Nagpur Affair Suspicion: Two Women Attacked in Separate Cases
Two separate violent incidents in Nagpur have brought attention to how suspicion over relationships can escalate into serious violence. Police have registered cases after two women were allegedly attacked in separate incidents in the Kamptee and Kalamna areas.
According to police, both incidents took place on the night of September 14, 2026. In each case, the women were allegedly confronted by men who suspected them of being involved in relationships with other people.
Woman Allegedly Attacked in Kamptee
In the first incident reported from Kamptee, a 35-year-old woman approached police after an alleged confrontation with her husband.
According to her complaint, her husband, identified as 38-year-old Sheikh Shabbir, allegedly returned home after consuming alcohol and accused her of having an affair.
The situation reportedly became violent during the argument. The woman alleged that she was assaulted with a stick and that a knife was held against her throat while she was threatened.
She managed to avoid the knife and escaped from the house before approaching the police.
Police registered a case based on her complaint. Authorities also said that Shabbir has several previous cases registered against him.
Second Attack Reported in Kalamna
A separate incident was reported from Sai Nagar in the Kalamna area on the same night.
Police said a 40-year-old man, identified as Jeetu Ranpise, allegedly attacked a 38-year-old woman with whom he was in a relationship.
The man allegedly suspected that the woman was involved with another person. During the confrontation, the woman was reportedly attacked with a sharp weapon, suffering injuries to her neck, face and hands.
She was taken to Mayo Hospital for treatment, where her condition was reported to be serious.
Police registered an attempt-to-murder case in connection with the incident and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Two Cases, Similar Relationship Suspicion
Although the two incidents occurred separately, police said both were linked to allegations or suspicions involving extra-marital or outside relationships.
The cases highlight how disputes involving trust, jealousy and suspected infidelity can sometimes escalate into physical violence.
However, allegations made during a police complaint are subject to investigation, and the exact circumstances of each incident will have to be established through the legal process.
Police Investigation Underway
Police teams visited the locations connected with both incidents and registered cases under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Investigators will examine the complaints, statements of the people involved and other available evidence to determine what happened during the confrontations.
The Kamptee and Kalamna cases are being investigated separately.
Relationship Disputes and Violent Crime
Cases involving suspected infidelity can become particularly volatile when accusations turn into threats or physical confrontations.
The Nagpur incidents also underline an important distinction between a relationship dispute and criminal conduct. Suspicion about a partner’s personal life does not justify violence, threats or physical assault.
As the investigations continue, authorities will determine the facts and legal responsibility in each case.
What Happens Next?
The police investigations are expected to focus on the sequence of events, the allegations made by the women, the circumstances surrounding the attacks and other evidence available in both cases.
Further legal proceedings will depend on the evidence collected by investigators.
The two incidents serve as another reminder that relationship conflicts can have serious consequences when disagreements escalate into violence. Any allegation of assault or criminal intimidation must be examined through proper investigation and due legal process.
